Podcast of Central New York Center Associate Professor and Poet Yvonne Murphy Available to Listeners

A podcast of Central New York Center Associate Professor Yvonne Murphy’s interview on “Arts Talk,” a program on WCNY Classic FM/ReadOut radio, has been posted. Murphy talks to show host Marie Lamb about what the college offers nontraditional students in the arts, her work as an arts mentor and her poetry.
Murphy has expertise in popular culture, literary theory, art history, creative writing, modern poetry and interdisciplinary modes of inquiry. She is a widely published poet; her first book, “Aviaries,” was published last year by Carolina Wren Press in Durham, N.C.
Murphy holds a Ph.D. in creative writing and literature, an M. A. in American literature and a B.A. in English literature: creative writing. She also has worked as an editor, publications writer, journalist, library clerk, storyteller, researcher and writer and artist-in residence in public schools, community organizations, hospitals and art museums.
