Important Information for Students Attending the Summer Term
Financial aid is awarded for the fall and spring terms. If you registered for the summer term, we will award your aid within two to three business days after your file is complete. You can refer to your student account statement on MyESC (login required) to confirm that your aid is pending.
Please refer to our summer TAP section for more information on special provisions that effect the New York State Tuition Assistance Program during the summer term. For NY state aid purposes, aid will be awarded for the May term initially. Students will receive NY state aid only for the May courses if enrolled in both May and June courses. Students who only enroll in the June courses, will have NY state aid awarded for the June courses.
Summer loans are automatically determined based on the results of the current year's FAFSA if you have an entrance loan counseling form on file with Empire State College. For Federal aid purposes all courses taken for May and or June will count toward overall enrollment for the term. If you are attending a summer term that consists of less than 15 weeks, your aid will be adjusted accordingly. Please contact the Financial Aid office for details.
Students who attend for any summer studies/courses that have a study/course start date after May 16, 2016 are encouraged to contact the Financial Aid office to notify our office of your summer enrollment plan and to find out how that choice will affect your financial aid awards.
