Lauren Wynn, Military Outreach Specialist - OCONUS Region
Lauren Wynn has been with the Office of Veteran and Military Education (OVME) since September 2011. Her primary duties include providing outreach, advisement, and support for enrolled and prospective military, veteran and family member students. From September 2011 through May 2015, Lauren was OVME's Mid-Atlantic Region representative based in Norfolk, VA. In May 2015, her family relocated to Hawaii and she assumed responsibility of the same duties for prospective military-affiliated students in Outside Contiguous United States (OCONUS) Region -- this region includes non-contiguous states of Alaska and Hawaii, off-shore United States territories and possessions, and all foreign countries.
Lauren has over eight years of experience in higher education. She worked as a Graduate Assistant Adviser assisting undergraduate business students at Valdosta State University and as a Student Success Adviser and First Year Experience Class instructor at Savannah College of Art and Design.
As an active duty military spouse and volunteer, Lauren is aware of the unique challenges facing military members and their families. She graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from Marshall University Huntington, WV and went on to complete an M.S. in Marriage in Family Therapy from Valdosta State University Valdosta, GA. Lauren is currently a student in the Graduate Certificate in Veterans Services at Empire State College.
