New Library Resources and a Request for Feedback

Some new resources are now available at the Empire State College Online Library, including more article databases through EBSCOhost as well as a new video collection from Alexander Street Press.

This database contains full-text articles from more than 220 periodicals dating back to 1997, and indexing and abstracts from more than 800 publications dating back to 1983. Content includes a variety of applied science specialties such as acoustics, aeronautics, neural networks, nuclear and civil engineering and more.

This database contains full-text articles from more than 350 journals dating back to 1997, and indexing and abstracts from more than 770 publications dating back to 1983. More than 100,000 controlled and cross-referenced names of educational tests are also included. Content includes a variety of education topics such as adult education, continuing education, literacy standards, multicultural/ethnic education, secondary education, teaching methods and much more. This database also has more than 50 journals dedicated to special education.

It also contains important information for professionals working in these fields. This database also includes indexing of almost 5,100 publications and tens of thousands of full-text articles.

This database contains full text for more than 125 periodicals and 135 reference books, as well as numerous case studies, thousands of company profiles and more than 600 videos with transcripts and related articles from the Harvard Faculty Seminar Series and Vator.TV, one of the world's largest social network sites for high-tech entrepreneurs. Some of the topics included are business planning, communications, innovations, management, marketing, organizational behavior, product development, raising capital, risk taking and more.

This database contains more than 330 full-text journals and indexing of almost 700 periodicals. Indexing dates back as far as 1910. It provides articles, interviews, bibliographies, obituaries and original works of fiction, drama, poetry and book reviews, as well as reviews of ballets, dance programs, motion pictures, musicals, radio and television programs, plays, operas and more.

This database provides full text of more than 130 journals, magazines and newspapers as well as more than 170 full-text books and monographs. It offers a specialized thesaurus with more than 7,500 terms. It also contains more than 200 indexed journals and 360 indexed books and reference works.

This database has full-text articles from more than 360 journals dating back to 1972. It also contains indexing of more than 750 periodicals, of which 510 are peer reviewed. VAST is a collection of carefully selected videos from a wide variety of disciplines. Complete titles are included, not just clips. More than 400 titles per month are added. These titles include award-winning films, including Academy and Emmy award winners. Subjects included are art, architecture, business, counseling and therapy, dance, economics, education, ethnic studies, ethnography, gay and lesbian studies, health, history, humanities, law and public safety, literature, opera, philosophy, political science, psychology, religion, science, theatre and women’s studies. Contributors include BBC, PBS, Arthaus, CBS, Kino International, Documentary Educational Resources, California News Reel, Opus Art, Cinema Guild, Pennebaker Hegedus Films, Psychotherapy.net, Zeitgeist, First Run Features and more.
