Workshop at the Empire State Plaza: "Superstar Perennials by Season"
By Susan LeClair, recruitment specialist, Empire State Plaza
October 5, 2012
“Superstar Perennials by Season” will be presented at noon on Wednesday, April 25 at the college’s Empire State Plaza location, on the concourse level (next to SEFCU). There is no charge to attend but space is limited and registration is required at 518- 473-4034 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Presenter Kerry Ann Mendez, at right, is a noted author, speaker and teacher who focuses on time-saving gardening techniques and workhorse plant material. In this session, participants will discover spectacular perennials for sun and shade that brighten the landscape from spring through fall. Many newer varieties will be featured.
As one perennial stops blooming, it "passes the baton" to the next "winner," Mendez says, “concluding with fall bloomers that finish the year with brilliance.”
Attendees will learn helpful garden-care tips and shortcuts to maximize the garden's color and reduce maintenance.
A book signing will follow the presentation.
