New Leadership New York (NLNY) is a week-long residential summer undergraduate leadership development institute for women designed to instill in them knowledge, skills and abilities for effective political engagement and community organizing. The session is set for the evening of June 5–June 11 on the SUNY Albany campus.
The first and only program of its kind in New York state, NLNY is part of the National Education for Women’s (NEW) Leadership Network. Ideal candidates are women who plan to pursue leadership positions in government, business and the nonprofit sector.
In addition to supporting female leaders, the program advances a vision of a society free of gender inequities, where the power of all citizens is harnessed and where women participate equally in decision making.
Applications will be accepted for the June session until Monday, Feb. 28. Questions should be directed to Cara Long at CLong@uamail.albany.edu or 518-442-3887.
