SUNY and the Peace Corps Join to Create Master's Degree; Program First in Nation

Peace Corps Logohe State University of New York and the Peace Corps have created a graduate program that provides academic credit in a program that includes traditional service overseas by volunteers.

SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher says the partnership provides credit for two years Peace Corps service as part of a Peace Corps Masters International program.

It's the first agreement by the Peace Corps with a state university system.

All 41,000 graduate students at SUNY's 28 graduate schools are eligible to apply.

The areas of study include agriculture, community economic development, education, environment, health, and youth development.
