Mary Morton joined the president's staff in December 2008 as the affirmative action and ethics officer. She is responsible for chairing the college Affirmative Action Committee, training college employees on the college's search process and updating the college's Affirmative Action Plan. She also trains college employees on college policies such as sexual harassment and respect in the workplace, and investigates complaints of harassment and discrimination. Morton co-chairs the college committee for employee accommodations, keeping the college employees informed about the New York State Public Officers Law and the workings of the state Ethics Commission.
Morton has had a long career in human resources and worked in both public and private college environments. Prior to working in the Office of the President, she worked for three years in Empire State College's Office of Human Resources.
