WNYT/NewsChannel13 news anchor and health reporter Benita Zahn will host a free Academy for Lifelong Learning forum on health care on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. in the SUNY Empire State College rotunda (room 126) at 2 Union Ave., Saratoga Springs. The presentation celebrates New York State Lifelong Learning Month.
The first half of the program will feature Dr. Timothy Hoff, associate professor of health policy and management with the School of Public Health at SUNY Albany. Hoff will address the new health care bill recently passed by Congress and what it will mean to individuals. He has extensive expertise in health organization management and leadership, primary care delivery, medical culture and organizational change and innovation.
The second half of the program will be given by Diane Van Dusen, LMSW, manager of clinical dementia services for Eddy Alzheimer's Services in Cohoes. Van Dusen directs the Capital Region Alzheimer's Disease Assistance Center (ADAC) presents caregiver education programs, trainings and in-services to professional staff and community groups, and provides supportive counseling to families and individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related dementia.
A question and answer session will follow. Refreshments will be served.
