Important Financial Aid Information for Graduate Students
What You Need to Know Now
Aid Limits:
- Students may only borrow up to $ 138,500 in Federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Student loans here or elsewhere. Only $65,500 of this may be in Subsidized loan funds. These amounts include any amounts borrowed as an undergraduate student. (Subsidized student loans are no longer available to graduate students.)
- Students enrolled only in a graduate (advanced) certificate program are not eligible for federal aid. Likewise, if a student is enrolled in both a certificate program and a master's degree program, the certificate courses must be part of the master's degree program to be aidable. If you are taking certificate courses that are not part of your master's degree program, you must notify the Financial Aid Office.
- Students may repeat a previously passed course only once for federal aid purposes. Students must complete the Repeat Course Form available through the Graduate Form Center.
- Students are not eligible for NY state TAP at the graduate level.
