Nursing Nondegree Study

If you are a licensed registered nurse interested in taking courses but not ready for the RN to B.S. in Nursing degree program, you can register as a nondegree student.

Requests from nondegree students are considered on an individual basis by the Admissions and Review Committee and the associate dean/director of nursing. The specific course being requested and the student-faculty ratio within it will be considered.

Please note: students pursuing the RN to B.S. in Nursing degree at Empire State College have first rights to open places in all nursing course offerings, followed by:

1. nursing students from other upper-level programs within SUNY
2. nursing students from upper-level programs beyond SUNY
3. Empire State College students
4. other nondegree students
