Dawn H. Farrar's Senior Exhibition, "Expression in Representation," is the current show at the Crystal Scriber Gallery. The gallery is located at the Utica office.

Artist Statement
Prior to my formal education in art, I primarily painted abstractly. These works were very expressive but had little to no representational images.
Since I began studying at PrattMWP in 2009, and now at Empire State College, I have learned the value of incorporating the figure, objects and landscapes into my work. This has been a source of artistic discovery for me.
It has also allotted me a way to integrate additional layers of meaning into my work. Additionally, it has given me tools to reach a greater aesthetic potential.
The pieces in this show are a result of what I have learned.
